How a monitor works
Three things to set, then nothing.

What it costs to leave running
A monitor spends credits the same way a scan does — one per thread read and scored — and nothing when there's nothing new.

A monitor can’t spend past your balance. It reserves before it runs and releases what it doesn’t use.
